学习英语没有那么难

为了丰富大家网络学习的资源和热情，酒店英语教研室鼓励学生进行网络情景对话表演，不仅可以通过练习，掌握和运用一定的语法知识，另一方面提升语感和增强学习的信心，对酒店管理专业的学生们在未来实际工作岗位上的跨文化交际能力也大有好处。

Guest (G): Good evening. Could you please tell me your opening hours?

C: Yes, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

G: It looks very spacious and bright.

C: Yes, we also have first-class equipment. How many people altogether?

G: Just my wife and I. Are there any alleys available?

C: Let me see. We have six bowling alleys altogether. You can use the third alley.

G: How much do you charge for registered guests?

Shop Assistant (S): Good afternoon, madam. Can I help you?

Guest (G): I’d like to buy a garment that is typical of Chinese culture. Can you recommend something?

S: Sure, madam. You are very slim, why not try a qipao?

G: Qipao? Can I see one?

S: This way, please. This is a qipao, a traditional Chinese dress worn by women. It’s very popular with Chinese young ladies when they want to dress traditionally.

G: How nice!

S: We have qipaos in various materials, colors and patterns. Have you a favorite color?

G: I like purple.

S: How do you like this one? It’s made of silk.

G: Can I try it on?

S: Yes, what size are you?

G: Well, I’m UK size 12. I suppose Medium size.

S: OK. The fitting room is this way…

G: What do you think of it on?

S: It looks terrific on you. The color and style really suit you. You look beautiful.

G: Thank you. I’ll take it.

S: By the way, the silk shouldn’t be hung out in the sunshine. It should be washed in cold water by hand. Don’t wring it out.

G: I see. Thank you for your help. How much is it?

A: It’s made in Jingdezhen, the porcelain capital of China.

G: It’s really beautiful.

A: It’s the best quality porcelain. You see, the body is decorated with lines of lotus, clouds and lots of flowers. There are lines like bamboo at the base.

G: I like it very much. I want two vases. (Seeing the price tag) Would you give me a discount?

A: I’m afraid not, sir. The price is fixed. Please consider the fine craftsmanship. They are worth the price.

G: I see. Then I’ll take them.

A: You have a good taste for art. Shall I wrap them up together or separately?

G: Separately, please.

A: Altogether 3,000 yuan. Please will you go to the cashier to pay for them?

G: Fine.

A: Thank you, sir. They are very fragile but I have put a lot of bubble wrap in the box with them.
